I am very very cautious about meditation and, frankly, avoided the Zen of Zentangle. I urge everyone to be extremely careful of what messages you meditate on...what voices you give permission to influence you.
But I took this particular opportunity Holly Atwater provided to learn the relationship between Zentangle and meditation. Holly is this week's guest blogger for the Diva Challenge and she challenged us to follow one of her 3 Audio Zentangle Meditations. As I listened, I was delighted to hear her focus on gratitude. What a wonderful thing to meditate on. The rest was just directions for what to draw next in her soothing voice and lovely music in the background. I enjoyed Holly's approach and it reminded me that I generally miss a bunch of the relaxation aspect of Zentangle. I need to work on relaxing, breathing and not fixating on the final result so much.
Thanks Holly and we are looking forward to the Diva herself coming back next week. I can only guess at the stories she'll have about B-Rad, Artoo and Chewie. Go here to learn more.
