The Tackle It Tuesday Challenge includes using String 004 (see tanglepatterns.com) and at least one new-to-me tangle pattern. I created this piece for the Bible Book Biweekly Challenge by Suzy Mosh (http://suzymoshcreations.blogspot.com/p/bible-book-challenge.html). I used String 004 because I knew I wouldn't get any more challenges done this week - so 2 birds with one arrow here.
The patterns I used spell out the name of a Bible book, Numbers:
Nipa (Zentangle(r))
Undling (Susie Achter)
Mr. E (Shawn Hayden)
Box Spirals (Margaret Bremner)
Emingle (Zentangle(r) and
Revolution (Sandy Chatelain) and
SeaVaw (Emmy Chen)
Plus Yah (Emily Classon)
The book of Numbers covers the time in Jewish history between the crossing of the Red Sea from captivity in Egypt until the crossing of the River Jordan into Canaan many years later. So I think it's appropriate my tile has a streak of river-themed patterns right through the center. Now, I would love to tell you I planned all that, but it was pure Serendipity! It was not until Nipa and SeaVaw were in place did I see it developing. From there, adding Undling was a natural choice.
I added Yah because I always think of one of the Hebrew names for God - Yahweh or shortened to Yah - when I see it. Fittingly, it is at the top (if Zentangle had a top, bottom, left or right orientation, that is.)
