Diane and Carolien's challenge this week is to use patterns that begin with the letters S, P & V.
I started with string 143 by Beth Snoderly (tanglepatterns.com) and used: Snugz by Terri Brown Phroz by Lynn Mead and Verve by JJ LaBarbera To learn more and see what others have submitted visit here. Thanks again Diane and Carolien. This week's Diane & Carolien's challenge is to use patterns that start with U, N & I
I started with string 008 by Hope Martin (see tanglepatterns.com) and used 2 Zentangle patterns, Umble and Ixorus plus Navaho by Caren Mlot. Get more details about the challenge here. This week's Diane & Carolien's challenge is to use patterns that start with X, G & K
I used X by Lila Popcheff, Gravee by Laurel Sponseller, Geisel by Debra Castaldi, Keenees by Donna Hornsby. Get more details about the challenge here. I don't have a lot to say about this one. Diane and Carolien's challenge is to use tangle that start with the letters L, Q & D. I didn't add any other tangles. I felt like it was done, even though there's a lot of white space. I might come back to this some time. Maybe add some color if nothing else.
I used: Lap by Lizzie Mayne Quatiny by molossus (really wish I had some bronze color to add to these) and Drupe (z(r) ) Must have been inspired by how nicely my flowers are looking outside my window...at least the blooms that the varmints will leave alone. Something is eating all the pretty blooms from one plant. He/she must be lazy, because it's only the plant closest to the sidewalk! Or maybe it's the stinky marigolds that keep the ravenous creature from venturing farther into my flower bed.
Diane & Carolien challenged us to use patterns that start with Y, H & A. I used the lovely and fun Y.A.F. pattern by Sandy Steen Bartholomew as the center of the Arukas (z(r) ). For H I added some Henna Drum by Jane MacKugler. Then the organics just kept coming with 2 more Zentangle originals, Flux and Printemps, plus Eddyper by Mei Hua Teng, Wist, Steps by Hellen Williams, and Kelp by Nancy Domnauer. I am officially "mixed media" with my colors! I used Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and Brush Tip Markers. Thanks Diane & Carolien. Learn more about their challenge here. Another weekly challenge from Diane & Carolien -- this one is for patterns that begin with J, W, and O.
I started with Helen Williams' (one of my all time favorite tanglers) Oval Parodox Thingy. Yep...that's what I would have called it too, Helen. OPT is floating over a field of W2 (z (r)) and Jajazz by Nancy Newlin. That is...I was trying to go for the floating effect. Can someone share some advice? I shadowed all around the OPT but kept a space between the shape and the shadow. But it's not quite right. Thanks again Diane & Carolien. I know this is a lot of work. To join the fun and learn more, visit them at http://www.dianeclancy.com/blog/diane-caroliens-weekly-zentangle-challenge/. Diane & Carolien challenged us to tangle a piece using patterns that start with F, M & T
I used: Ferdy by Bunny Wright Meer (z (r)) and TriPo by Sue Clark. In addition I used Jambalee by Pamela Pincha-Wagener and Joy by Joyce Block. I think it's playful. Thanks again ladies. Read more about D&C's weekly challenge here. Late again to the challenge, but here is my submission to this (last??) week's challenge from Diane & Carolien's Challenge. They asked us to use patterns that start with a number, the letters c and r.
I used some of my favorites and one that's always challenging to me. I started with string 153 by Beth Snoderly (see tanglepatterns.com) I added Nine Patch by Suzanne Mc'Neill, Cayla by Chrissie Frampton, Rims by DiAnne Ferrer plus a beautiful patch of Footlites by Carole Ohl I'm pretty happy with it. Learn more at Diane & Carolien's challenge page. Thanks ladies!! Diane & Carolien's challenge this week is to use patterns that start with the letters Y Z and A. You can read the details here.
I used Y.A.F. by Sandy Steen Bartholomew for the 3 flowers. I added Zippity-Do-Da by Texasdoxiemama. For some reason I've never really cared for any of Texasdoxiemama's patterns. I couldn't really tell you why...just didn't feel right to me for some reason. But I honestly like Zippity-Do-Da. I'll be using it again and again I imagine. I used Ansu by Lori Manoogian as a border. Thanks again Diane & Carolien. This was fun. |
