We're up to letter J at Cheryl's Artful Creation "Tackle It Tuesday" challenge. This week we are to use the letter J as our string and incorporate at least one tangle in our design that starts with the letter J.
This tile isn't my first attempt. The first one was OK. Everything looked pretty good, but the Uncorked in the round section of the J ended up looking out of place with all the other flowery patterns I used. I never could recover from it, so I decided it was a good day to try my new black tiles and white pen instead. I've never had much luck with the white pens before, but this time I took my time and had a better idea of exactly what you can do with a big fat roller ball, compared to the fine work you can accomplish with a Micron.
It turned out much better than I had hoped. I plan to do more with this. My scanner made the black look chocolate brown but I don't mind - it looks yummy!
I used
Joy by Joyce Block - one of my absolute favorites. Not just because it's so easy, but it always makes me smile.
Paushalöv by Amy Broady
B'Tweed, Flux Hollibaugh, and Pendrill Z (r),
Sanibelle by Tricia Faraone
Eddyper by Mei Hua Ten and
Pippin by Juliet Herring.
