Adele says, "Maria Thomas authored Rixty in honor of Rick Robert's 60th birthday and LG is my tangle inspired by my husband, Lou."
Maybe that explains why my tile, morphed from my original intention into this kinda romantic piece. I spent hours, honestly, looking for some patterns that were whimsical and playful because LG was throwing me. All attempts at using it to fill an empty space just fell flat in my eyes. Too messy!
With no clear plan ahead, I went with Dooleedo by Ksenija Vojisavljevic (try typing that 5 times fast!!) along one of the string lines and hoped the Zen-muses would lead me on from there. Because I did Dooleedo with curved lines, I curved up Rixty and suddenly my whimsical direction was out the door. Sweet and romantic it would be! The addition of Grav-ee by Laurel Sponseller and Flux (Z (r)) sealed the deal.
Now where in the heck was I going to put in an LG now? Sloppy sentimentality is one thing...a sloppily aured heart on my lovely tile is quite another. So, look closely for the smallest, single LG ever! I almost abandoned it entirely, but I think it fit the theme just fine when I minimized it.
I've turned this tile around and around and can't decide which orientation I prefer. Let me know which way you would have placed it.
To keep with the flow of things...I'll dedicate this tile to my own sweet hubby John. He always prefers tiles that have more white space, so he should be happy! xxxooo
