Suzy Mosh issues a couple of challenges - a weekly "That's New to Me" and a biweekly "Bible Book." This is my first time to participate in the Bible Book Challenge. Our instructions were to use patterns that began with the letters that spell out Numbers, which is the 4th book of the Bible as well as the Torah. Numbers covers the time in Jewish history between the crossing of the Red Sea from captivity in Egypt until the crossing of the River Jordan into Canaan many years later. So I think it's appropriate my tile has a streak of river-themed patterns right through the center. Now, I would love to tell you I planned all that, but it was pure Serendipity! It was not until Nipa (Zentangle(r)) and SeaVaw (Emmy Chen) were in place did I see it developing. From there, adding Undling (Susie Achter) was a natural choice.
Other patterns include
Mr. E (Shawn Hayden)
Box Spirals (Margaret Bremner)
Emingle (Zentangle(r) and
Revolution (Sandy Chatelain)
Then I added Yah. Now, the designer of Yah, Emily Classon, says the name stands for "You Are Here." I don't want to argue with Emily, but every time I saw the name I always thought of one of the Hebrew names for God - Yahweh or shortened to Yah. So of course we needed to add it. Fittingly, it is at the top (if Zentangle had a top, bottom, left or right orientation, that is.)
I used String Pattern 004 found at Tanglepatterns.com because that's the Tackle It Tuesday challenge this week. And yes, I'm going to cross post it!
