Suzy Mosh's That's New to Me Tangle Challenge this week is to use at least one pattern that's new to me and begins with the letter A. And, since A is a recent repeat, she included an artist focus of Karry Heun.
I started with string 124 by Nancy Newlin (tanglepatterns.com). Then I used the original and a couple of variations of Henrike Bratz's Axlexa and Heun's fabulous Summer Sitter. I never realized it before, but Summer Sitter is a simplified version of Mi2. I love Mi2 but sometimes it's just not worth the effort so I don't use it often. Summer Sitter is now my Mi2 substitute! I just love it.
I thought Laced by Mary Elizabeth Martin was a good complement to Summer Sitter.
I used Barber Pole by Suzanne McNeil for another border.
I added Heartfully by Helen Williams.
My almost 6-year-old granddaughter suggested the spiral...although she was lobbying for me to used her silver and purple sparkly tatoo ink pens. We compromised by using the spirals but sticking to my Sakura Micro. The tile is now in her hands as a part of her mother's birthday card. Her birthday isn't until September, so what are the chances it will still be in one piece in a month?
Thanks Suzy, as always.
